When I was ten years old my cousin showed me how the notes on a music score corresponded to the keys on our family piano. There was some blank score paper in the piano bench and I composed my first piece of music that day.
The piano was an upright built by Eilers in Portland, Oregon sometime in the 1920s. I improvised on it all the time. I've played modern and baroque flute, and viola, and tried to learn the Renaissance cornetto. I now enjoy playing my harpsichord and house organ.
I've written keyboard music for pianoforte, fortepiano, harpsichord, clavichord and organ. I've also written chamber music for solo violin, solo viola, wind and string duo, string trio, string quartet and a music for recorder, strings and continuo.
